Air conditioning repairs are another crucial element of the HVAC industry. A qualified technician such as C-Aire technicians should ALWAYS do repairs. For the past 28 years, I have seen some crazy somewhat repairs. Repairing AC units have many components such as 208-230 volts to 24 volts. Commercial units can have voltages going all the way up to 880 volts. The refrigeration part of systems can hurt and burn skin, eyes, etc. Mechanical and electrical should be left to the technician.
I have witnessed many residential Myrtle Beach customers trying to install thermostats. “Don’t Do This”, even though it’s only 24 volts, this can cause a transformer blow-ups to heat and air conditioning coming on at the same time.
Granted, people can do minor things such as changing filters, washing condenser coils, and keeping debris from your condensing units.
